Do you ever get so caught up in life’s chaos that you feel off-centered? Like life didn’t feel wrong, but it didn’t feel right either. That’s because we weren’t designed to live a chaotic life. We were designed to live a peaceful life.
If you’ve ever felt like that keep reading becasue I am going to give you 5 tips to turn your life from chaos to peace. All it takes is us being more intentional and thoughtful with our time, objects, and habits.
When I was a teacher I felt like I was barely holding it together. I became a negative person because I wasn’t able to recharge and recenter myself. I was always on go-mode and the longer I was there, the more chaotic I felt. That’s when I knew I needed to make a peaceful life a priority.
5 Tips to Help you Live an Intentionally Peaceful Life

1. Set Boundaries
Boundaries are here to protect our peace. As a recovering people pleaser, setting boundaries was hard to do but necessary.
I started leaving work earlier, saying no to things I didn’t want to do or have time for, and made a separation between Kayla as a teacher and Kayla as a person.
Boundaries allow us to live a peaceful life without feeling like we’re on a never-ending merry-go-round.

2. Time Management
Time management goes hand in hand with boundaries. We are in charge of where and how we spend our time. We don’t owe anyone our time.
Teachers have a lot of experience with time management and management of others’ time. Intentional management strategies allow us to be more productive with our time as well as allow us to make time for ourselves and important relationships in our lives.
My favorite management strategies are: time blocking, investing in a planner that supports my life, using an online planning tool like ClickUp, and brain dumping tasks if I’m feeling overwhelmed.

3. Take Time to Rest
We live in a society where rest isn’t really a thing. When in reality, taking time to rest allows us to be happier and healthier in our life.
Resting looks different for everyone. Sometimes you may want to rest by reading, watching a movie, or playing video games. Others may find it more restful to go on a hike, kayak, or work in the garden.
Resting allows us to live a peaceful life because the right rest will recenter us. We will feel rejuvenated and ready to tackle the next day’s activities.
4. Start a Gratitude Practice
Practicing gratitude daily is great for your mental health and mindset. gratitude helps us feel more positive, soak in positive experiences, improve our health and build stronger relationships with our friends, families, and coworkers.
A gratitude practice doesn’t have to be intense. It can be as simple as writing or saying three things we are grateful for in the morning or at night. I choose to do that in the morning so that I start my day in the right mindset.
